Deborah Kemp

Deborah Kemp, SPHR, is the Principal Consultant of Human Resources Consulting Experts, LLC. Prior to forming HR Consulting Experts, Ms. Kemp’s career in human resources management spanned a diverse group of industry leadership, such as healthcare, gaming/entertainment, technology, finance/banking, manufacturing, social services and transportation. She has successfully designed performance management systems and employee recognition programs, facilitated leadership training and fair employment practices seminars, and developed strategic compensation models.

Ms. Kemp also developed and implemented affirmative action programs utilizing her extensive experience with U.S. Department of Labor audits, and has resolved numerous matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and human rights commissions throughout the U.S. Having presented on a variety of topics, Ms. Kemp is further recognized for two particular areas of special expertise: multi-generational workforce development and employee opinion survey feedback. Human Resources Consulting Experts, LLC, also created its Workforce Environment SurveySM, a tool that enables in-depth analysis of employee-provided feedback to assist employers with strengthening working relationships.

Ms. Kemp completed both undergraduate and graduate studies in Sociology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her continuing education includes an emphasis on strategic human resources leadership, and she holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). Among her professional affiliations and memberships are the Society for Human Resource Management, American Bar Association, American Sociological Association and HRMA-Kansas City. She serves the community in various roles, including constituent leadership for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ms. Kemp is a member of The Links, Inc. and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and she currently serves on the board of directors for the Women's Council of University of Missouri-Kansas City where she personally maintains an annually-awarded graduate fellowship for women students.
